Last night after Matt got home he invited me out to his friends house for a small get together. Of course I jumped a the chance to get out of the house and after stopping for some beer, we were on our way. His friends didn't live too far away and were already in the middle of socializing. Thankfully Matt was driving as I have no idea how many drinks I had but I had a great time and met a few really nice people. Last night I was invited to go bowling today and even though only 3 of us were able to go (me, Shad, Cory), it was a blast! I hadn't been bowling in a while.
Tomorrow I'm having coffee with someone that I've been corresponding with from the craigslist 'strictly platonic' section and so we'll see how that goes. For those of you who are worried about my safety, please let me say that I am very smart, and I've been using craigslist for years now finding furniture, a room to rent, bikes and what-not so I'm not afraid to meet someone in a coffee shop. Shad then invited me to go frisbee golfing (I've never heard of it, should be interesting) on Tuesday so I'll be sure to write up a good report on how that goes. I'm gonna ask and see if the roomies want to get in on that.
All in all I feel really good about having met some new people. I'm also thinking of, since I don't have a job for the month of September, heading back to PC a little earlier than I had originally planned to spend some more time with the fam. I've been going back and forth with regards to driving and flying and based on what I want to bring back and the advantages to having my own car while I'm in PC, I'm going to drive. I get this strange feeling that some people may not think I'm going to come back to Oregon after the cruise is over but trust me...I love it here and I will definitely be back. It'll be Operation: Find a Job after I return. :)
